Continuing an exploration of colour, I pushed the paint as far as it could go - heavy, expressive brushstrokes sit behind a very refined and angular portrait made out of thread and nail. 

I chose colours that contrast well with one another; threads in colours blue and green, and paint in colours bronze, orange and pinks, allowing the portrait to 'pop' in front of the chaotic painterly background.
