In Flux, Digbeth Art Space, Birmingham, June 2022

The exhibition explores the material thread in innovative and intriguing ways to transform my portraits into 3D installations and to push ideas of how we perceive and engage with thread within a fine art space.

The term “In Flux” describes a constantly moving or changing state. During the exhibition, the viewer is encouraged to move around the space to ‘piece together’ parts of faces, while other portraits imply a sense of movement through the multi- layering of faces. The exhibition itself embodies movement and development as I was encouraged to utilise the gallery space to push my practice in ambitious ways and explore new ways of working with thread.
